Payment Terms
Payment is due upon receipt unless otherwise agreed in writing (including recurring billing arrangements).
Accepted payment methods include check, cash, ACH bank transfer, credit/debit card, or Venmo (@MakingMends).
- By providing a payment method, you authorize us to charge that method for all amounts due, including service charges, recurring charges, fees, and outstanding balances.
If you choose to save a card on file, it will be stored securely by our payment processors (including Housecall Pro and Stripe).
Overdue invoices will incur a late fee of 1.5% per month (or the maximum allowed by law), applied to the outstanding balance. Accounts more than 30 days past due may be referred to collections. Customers are responsible, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any additional costs, fees, or legal expenses associated with collection.
- Advance payment may be required for some parts. Order cancellations will be processed at our discretion, and may be subject to fees for restocking, return shipping, handling, or administrative costs.
- A service call/diagnostic fee will apply regardless of whether repair is completed.
Liability Disclaimer
Making Mends Appliance Repair is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, improper installation, or work performed by other parties.
We are not liable for consequential or incidental damages, including loss of food, time, income, or use of the appliance.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the service provided.
General Service Terms
Appliances must remain assembled and installed until the technician arrives, unless otherwise approved in advance. Additional fees may apply.
Some issues are not immediately diagnosable. In cases such as faulty control boards, all other potential causes must be ruled out before confirmation.
Special-order parts may require an additional trip fee for return installation. No additional charge applies for regularly stocked or standard-ordered parts.
Appliances with unsafe conditions including unsafe venting, electrical, plumbing, gas, structural, sanitation, or access conditions may incur additional charges or refusal of service.
- Customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the appliance.
Appointments require access to the appliance and either (a) an adult present at the scheduled time or (b) prior authorization for entry without anyone present. If access is not provided, an appointment is missed, or changes are made with insufficient notice, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation or trip fee to recover lost time and scheduling costs. Any applicable fees may be charged to the customer or, for tenant-occupied properties, directly to the on-site tenant.
- We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at our discretion, including but not limited to unsafe working conditions, harassment, lack of access to the appliance, or situations that violate applicable laws or these Terms.
Customers are responsible for ensuring appliances are used only for their intended purpose and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Laundry appliances are intended only for normal laundering of washable clothing, towels, bedding, and similar washable textiles. Customers must not wash or dry items contaminated with flammable materials, oils, solvents, chemicals, excessive debris, sharp objects, hard objects, pet waste, construction materials, or other materials that may damage the appliance or create unsafe conditions.
Customers are responsible for checking and emptying all clothing and laundry items prior to use or service. Damage caused by foreign objects including but not limited to coins, screws, nails, pens, tools, metal objects, lighters, ammunition, cosmetics, debris, or items left in pockets is not covered under warranty or liability.
Customers are responsible for maintaining safe, code-compliant utility connections and venting systems. Dryer vent systems must comply with applicable building codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry safety standards, including proper duct material, installation, support, routing, termination, airflow, and overall condition.
Making Mends LLC may refuse or discontinue service, installation, rental, activation, or reconnection where unsafe, damaged, restricted, non-compliant, or hazardous conditions exist.
- Customer is responsible for verifying property owner approval where required.
